Air defrosting can only be used when the chamber temperature is higher than the freezing temperature, which must be performed during periods when the chamber does not require cooling and the refrigerator system is switched off.
During the defrost cycle, the evaporator fan continues to operate, which
causes melting of the ice formed on the surface of the evaporators. This defrost system is normally controlled by timer.
Some systems may require long periods of defrost,
excessive temperature variation of the chamber. In addition, part of the moisture formed on the surface of the evaporator during the defrost will be transferred back into the ambient, i.e. into the air, chamber. Therefore, this defrost system is not recommended for chambers that must be maintained with low relative humidity and temperatures below + 2 ° C.
