What is absorption in refrigeration?

Absorption is a technology that enables cooling from a thermal energy source. It takes advantage of the properties of some substances (eg water and lithium bromide) which are related - which facilitates absorption of one from the other - even with very different boiling points - which favors their separation by distillation.
