Natural gas can be used as an energy source for cold production through two technologies:
• Absorption cycle, with direct burning of natural gas or use of hot residues from its combustion;
• Compression cycle (traditional) on rotary machines driven by explosion motors.
The absorption cycle is the most used in the use of natural gas as an energy source for the production of cold.
