In order to carry out the vacuum process in the installation of split systems, it should be considered that the units leave the factory with refrigerant charge in the condenser, so vacuum the lines and evaporator. To do this, it is recommended to use the following procedure:
a) Connect the vacuum pump to the suction service valve of the condenser unit and to the vacuum gauge as shown in the figure below. This interconnection can be made with hoses, provided that their seals are in perfect condition, or copper pipe with a diameter equal to or greater than ¼ ".
b) Make sure that the condenser service valves are fully closed;
c) Open the vacuum pump register;
d) Switch on the vacuum pump and the vacuum gauge;
e) When the system pressure reaches the recommended range (250 and 500 μmHg), close the register, turn off the pump and check the effectiveness of the vacuum process;
