To specify a fuse we must take into account its rated current, rated voltage, breaking capacity and the opening time of the circuits.
Rated Current (In)
It is a fuse link characteristic and specifies the maximum current value that the fuse can withstand without overheating and burning (blown).
Rated Voltage (Un)
This feature is related to the fuse insulation body and specifies the maximum fuse insulation voltage value.
Breaking Capacity
It is the characteristic that shows the safety for the installation when there is a short circuit, that is, the ability to open a circuit by burning only the fuse element, not allowing the circulation of current by arcing.
This capacity is represented in KA (kilo-amp).
