Suction accumulator used in air conditioning and refrigeration system

The suction accumulator has the function of preventing the refrigerant from reaching the compressor in liquid form. If a portion of the liquid mixed to the vapor reaches the accumulator, there will be a physical separation (the denser liquid is at the bottom) and only the vapor will be sucked by the compressor.
