You can check the performance of an equipment by measuring the variation
of air temperature when passing through the evaporator. An equipment is performing well when the difference between inlet and outlet air temperature is within a range of 8 to 12 ° C (equipment running at normal and high speed).
The performance test must be performed according to the following procedure:
1) Turn on the equipment in cold cycle at high speed and set the set-point to
17 ° C to ensure that the equipment does not turn off by temperature during the test;
2) Install a temperature sensor at the evaporator air inlet (T1) and another at the air outlet (T2). Take care that the sensors are not touching any part of the equipment (it should only measure air);
3) After 10 minutes of operation, measure the temperature on both sensors and calculate their difference: DT = T1 - T2
4) Check that DT is within the recommended range (8 to 12ºC). If the TD is out of range, the technician should check the cause of the malfunction.
