Why is the capillary tube not used in large refrigeration installations?

 Because this device is not able to provide efficient control when the system is subjected to large variations in the thermal load. The capillary tube works well only in systems subject to small variations in charge and evaporation temperature, such as small systems (refrigerators, freezers, etc.).
