Evaporative condensers combine the functions of condenser and cooling tower. Consists of a housing that contains a fan section, droplet separator, refrigerant condensing coil, water reservoir,
float valve and spray pump outside the enclosure. The spray pump circulates the water from the reservoir, at the bottom of the unit, to the spray nozzles, over the refrigerant coil. The fans force air through the coil and the water being sprayed onto the coil. The heat from the coolant is transmitted through the walls of the coil to the water that passes over it.
The air removes heat from the water by evaporating part of it. Droplet separators prevent water droplets from being blown away.
