MAIN MODIFICATIONS TO SYSTEMS WITH R134a

• Compressor: New model with polyolester oil (vegetable).
• Filter Dryer: Copper housing, greater molecular weight Sieves XH-9 (drying element) around 20%
• Capillary: Theoretical need to reduce the flow.
• Gas Load: In general, there was a load reduction.
• Miscibility: Miscibility is the ability of a lubricant to mix with the refrigerant gas. Miscibility is an extremely important factor in a refrigeration system, as it ensures that the oil that normally migrates to the system returns to the compressor.
Mineral oils (are not miscible with the new R134a gas, therefore, it was necessary to use a vegetable oil (Ester oil). Ester oils have a high water absorption capacity compared to mineral or synthetic oil (hygroscopicity).
