WHAT IS OZONE LAYER?

The Earth's atmosphere is divided into three parts: the first, which goes from the ground up to 18,000 meters in height, is called the troposphere; the second, which goes from 18,000 meters to 70,000 meters, called the stratosphere and the third, above 70,000 meters, the ionosphere.
The ozone layer is at an altitude of approximately 12,000 m from the earth.
Ozone is a gas that exists throughout the Earth's atmosphere in a pure and impurity-free state, being a by-product of oxygen. A very important detail that usually causes confusion refers to the very different characteristics that Ozone has in the troposphere and in the stratosphere. While in the stratosphere Ozone protects life by filtering the sun's ultraviolet radiation, in the troposphere it is harmful to animal and plant life.
