POWER FACTOR

It is the number that indicates how much electrical energy is transformed into other forms of energy;
F.P. Indicates how much of the total power supplied (KVA) is used as active power (KW).
ANEEL establishes that F.P. Should be maintained above 0.92.
Provides reduction of electric energy bill, release of electrical capacity in the electrical system, elevation of voltage level, reduction in energy losses.

CAUSES OF THE LOW POWER FACTOR
Engines operating on empty;
Oversized motors and transformers;
Large quantity of small power engines;
Discharge lamps;
Excessive capacitive energy.
