How are sandpaper sheets made up

Fits parts polishing. They come for use in the form of tapes, rectangular sheets or discs. They are made up of numerous very hard grains and sharp edges. It is these grains that by friction pull the tiny particles from the surface of the piece. The use of abrasive grains varies according to their hardness and strength. Thus, the abrasives used in wood are different from those used in metal.
The binder to which abrasive granulation is applied is an animal or vegetable glue that binds the grains to each other and to the base. The base, which is the common support for abrasive granulation, can be paper (wood sandpaper) or cloth (metal sandpaper).
Sandpaper should be stored in a dry place as moisture attacks the binder, disaggregating the abrasive and softening the base.
