To clean and test the Col Wall evaporator, proceed as follows:
- With a blowtorch, disconnect the suction tube and capillary from the evaporator.
- Solder two copper tips of approximately 150 mm at the inlet and outlet of the evaporator, respectively.
- Clean the evaporator by passing Nitrogen (N2) through the pipe.
- Seal one end with a torch.
- Pressurize the evaporator with 250 PSI of Nitrogen (N2), then seal the other end.
NOTE: In roll-type evaporators, 100 PSI of Nitrogen should not be exceeded.
- Perform leak testing on welds performed.
- Keep the evaporator pressurized for 24 hours.
- Check the pressure drop.
