• Refrigerant detectors should be used.
• If necessary, a forced emergency exhaust system must be in place.
• Ammonia discharge, whether in an emergency or programmed, can be made to the atmosphere or to a tank with plenty of water. Special care should be used in either case.
Note: Uncontrolled discharge into the atmosphere must be avoided and discharge into the sewer should only be done after dilution with large amounts of water.
