Compressor mechanically locked or tree-bearing couplings are not lubricated enough.
An attempt can be made to unlock the compressor by temporarily turning it on so that the electric motor receives an impulse that causes it to rotate in the opposite direction to normal. If the attempt is unsuccessful, the compressor must be repaired or replaced.
