The starting relay of the hermetic compressor is a device that energizes the starting coil of the motor and disconnects this coil after the motor has reached normal operating rotation.
The motor electrical connections are made through three fixed terminals on the compressor housing identified as follows:
C - Terminal common to both coils
S - Starting coil terminal
R - Coil terminal
