Sheets of technical characteristics

Used for polishing of parts. They are presented for use in the form of tapes, rectangular sheets or discs. They consist of innumerable hard grains and sharp edges. It is these grains that by friction pull the tiny particles from the surface of the piece. The use of abrasive grains varies according to their hardness and strength. Thus, abrasives used in wood are different from those used in metal.
The binder, to which the abrasive granulation is applied, is an animal or vegetable glue, which binds the grains to each other and the same to the base. The base, which is the common support for abrasive granulation, can be paper (wood sanding) or cloth (metal sanding).
The sandpaper should be stored in a dry place, as moisture attacks the binder, disaggregating the abrasive and softening the base.
