Basic scale industrial scale ice machines

Ice forms on the inner and outer surface of a vertical double-walled tube, evaporating inside NH3. Ice is removed by heating the tubes with hot gas, the generator cycle takes 9 minutes to form ice and the defrosting time is adjustable.

The layer of ice produced is 8 to 10 mm and when defrosting it slides downwards, being broken into irregularly sized fragments (in “scales”), which adapt well to the surfaces of the products to be cooled.

Ice can be stored in isolated silos with or without refrigeration. De-icing the silo can be manual, semi-automatic with snails and fully automatic with the ice-rake system.
