In common freezers, the evaporator can be either a tubular grid type or a rollbond type. The evaporator is distributed through the compartment in the form of plates forming several freezing shelves. Between the plates are fitted drawers made of reinforced wire with an acrylic lid.
In the Frost-free freezer, the evaporator is finned and hidden behind the back wall of the cabinet and the cold air is distributed through the air ducts and diffusers. It does not have shelves with freezing plates and the drawers are fitted on the side rails of the internal compartment.
