• Failure to return liquid can break the compressor immediately causing hydraulic damage, or even dilute the oil and thus cause progressive and irreversible wear to the compressor, that is, it will break in the future.
For a good immigration of oil return in the motor-compressor
• The oil returns by drag in the suction line, therefore, it needs a minimum speed for this; Coolant speed must be: 4m / s horizontal and 8m / s vertical
• The oil drag in ascending vertical stretches is much more difficult than in horizontal stretches, so it requires higher gas velocities;
• Usually in situations of low capacity, we have an impaired oil return and a higher probability of liquid return, that is, the situation where the oil dilution is maximum (little oil in the compressor sump mixed with enough liquid refrigerant). It can be fatal.
