Vacuum procedure of a commercial refrigeration system

• Initially, take pressure test and eliminate any leaks;
• Connect the vacuum pump on both the low and high pressure side;
• Energize the crankcase resistance during the entire vacuum process;
• Use reliable and accurate vacuum gauges (manifold assembly not suitable!);
• The vacuum reading must be made in the system and not in the vacuum pump!
• Achieve vacuum below 500 microns (0.67 mbar);
• Isolate the pump circuit;
• Wait at least 30 minutes;
• If the pressure rises rapidly, and does not stop, there are leaks. Find and start the process;
• If the pressure rises and stabilizes above 500 microns, moisture is present. Break the vacuum with nitrogen and make a new vacuum;
• If the pressure stabilizes up to 500 microns for at least 1 hour, the system is well dehydrated and free of leaks. The vacuum of the circuit will be ready.
