The liquid sight glass is installed in the liquid line, hence the reason of its name, or the return of oil to the compressor.
In the line of liquid has two basic functions that are: the indication of the presence of bubbles of refrigerant and the verification of the level of humidity of the system.
The reason we can check the presence of bubbles in the liquid line is that if the system is operating properly, the liquid line should be complete with coolant in the form any bubble of refrigerant in the gas phase can be observed.
In these conditions the correct one is to check the complete liquid display, that is, we totally visualize the bottom of the liquid display.
When returning oil to the compressor, it helps to visualize it as well as the state of the oil. We remind you that under normal conditions the refrigerant oil has a clear and practically transparent color.
When installing the liquid sight glasses in the piping, we must take the utmost care with regard to the displays that have the welded connections. Therefore, we must protect the display with a strip of damp cloth duly wrapped around the display case.
This care is very important to prevent the internal parts of the sight glass from being burned and not operating correctly.
