Water condensing chillers are extremely versatile and economical equipment. They work silently and, because of that, they are widely used in sectors where noise level is an important criterion.
The most used compressors in water cooled chillers are centrifugal and screw compressors. Since those with Screw compressors are found in equipment ranging from 100TR to 600TR on average. The ones with Centrifugal compressors are found in equipment ranging from 300TR to 2,000TR on average. The main difference between the screw and centrifugal compressor is in the cooling capacity and efficiency of the equipment. Centrifugal compressors are able to achieve better efficiencies than screw compressors (efficiencies greater than 20%). On the other hand, they have a higher initial investment cost.
