The refrigeration units use flanged connections to interconnect the indoor and outdoor units.
- The ends of all tubes must be flanged. When cutting the tubes, the rivets must be removed to prevent copper particles from falling into them.
- Place a cap on the open end of the tube to keep it free from dust and moisture. Avoid bending the tube. If it is necessary to bend it, fold it very carefully using a radius of more than 30 or 40 mm (1 1/2 ”or 1 5/8”.).
- Cut the tube leaving an additional piece of approximately 300 to 500 mm (12 ”to 20”).
- Before flanging, remember to adjust the flange.
- Cut the tube in the downward sloping position to prevent particles from falling into the tube.
- Remove the caps from the ends of the tube.
- Connect the tubes by aligning the centers of both flanged parts, rotating the flanged threads manually between 3 to 4 turns.
- Check the connections of the piping and refrigerant lines, before applying torque. Tighten the flanged threads according to the manufacturer's manual.
