MANOMETER most used in the refrigeration area
The type of manometer most used in the refrigeration area is the Bourdon type. This instrument has a copper tube, with elastic property, connected to a rod. The fluid, the pressure of which you want to measure, enters the Bourdon tube through a hole in the connecting rod; with pressure increase the tube changes its shape expanding, thereby moving a rotating gear; the movement of the gear is then transferred to a pointer that provides the reading on a given scale.
