Effects on the Central Nervous System (CNS) with fluorocarbons
Inhalation of concentrated fluorocarbon vapors can cause effects on the CNS (CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM) similar to those of general anesthesia. Symptoms, as exposure time increases, begin with a feeling of intoxication followed by loss of coordination and unconsciousness. Under severe conditions, it can lead to death. When these symptoms are present, the exposed individual should go or be taken immediately to a place where there is fresh air. You should see a doctor immediately. Individuals exposed to fluorocarbons should not be treated with adrenaline (epinephrine).
