THERMAL PROTECTOR

The thermal protector is coupled to the compressor housing, has two bimetallic blades with different coefficients of expansion, which when heated interrupt the continuity between its terminals.
Its function is to switch off the compressor if its temperature increases or there is an increase in current (amperage).
With a multimeter, make sure the continuity between the terminals of the thermal protector.
Note: The thermal protector must be operationally tested as it may malfunction, turning off the compressor under normal temperature and current (amperage) conditions.
